The world of beauty is ever changing, trends come and go, while some things remain classics. In 2015 we saw the bold brow make a huge come back, the classic bold lip took a twist when new colors were added to the repertoire, and of course the natural hair movement has continued with a vengeance.
Here is a quick look at what we think will be on trend for this new year, these are just a few and we are sure there will be tons more as the year goes on.
1. Pantone's Colors of the Year
Pantone announced the Colors of the Year as Rose Quartz and Serenity. These two colors will likely be all over for the duration of 2016. Sephora and Pantone have once again collabed on an amazing collection featuring these colors. The watercolor themed collection is exclusive to Sephora and can be purchased in store or on their website.
2. Pops of Blue
Pops of blue were all over the runways this season. From electric blue liner, to blue smokey eyes, and even blue lips, blue is everywhere. Check out a few of these vivid blue looks and some of my favorite products to get in line with the Pop of Blue trend.
These are some seriously bold and beautiful looks! Here are a few products that you can use to achieve this gorgeous trend.
Top Left: MAC Atlantic Blue Eyeshadow Top Right: Marcelle Blue Lagoon Eyeliner Bottom: NYX Wicked Lippies Envy
3. Statement Lips
The Statement lip is a classic that will likely never go out of style. In 2016 we are amping up the bold lip! This year expect to see more of statement than the regular red. Colors like purple, blue, orange, and even gold are going to be making their lip debut!
A lot of makeup lines have come out with more daring colors in their lipstick lines. A few of my favorites are the NYX Wicked Lippies, Kat Von D's Liquid Lipstick line, and of course MAC's Lipsticks.
4. Colorful Smokey Eyes
The smokey eye is another classic, that will likely never go out of style. This year is about color, expect to see the smoke go from gray, black and brown to pinks, blues, and greens. The colorful smokey eye is a gorgeous way to make your eyes pop.
There are so many fun eye shadow palettes and single shadows out there right now, it is really hard to choose my favorites to help you achieve these looks. Kat Von D's Mi Vida Loca Palette (left) is a start, it is filled with gorgeous blendable shadows in bright vivid colors. The e.l.f. Bright eye shadow palette (right) is a more affordable start while you are getting the hang of the colorful smokey eye.
What do you think of these trends for 2016/ Are they something you can get on board with? What are you hoping to see catch on or disappear this year?
